Congratulations to Blaine Swiftwraith on winning the Mid-Season Showdown and the Spring Split! This Weekend’s Game VODs (4/15 – 4/16) will be uploaded to YouTube on Tuesday at 6pm Eastern. We will be recording a Spring Split Recap Episode for the Beyond The Spiral Podcast in the near future, apologies for the technical difficulties.
Mid-Season Showdown Bracket
Blaine Swiftwraith chose Daniel (4 Seed) for his A1 Upper Bracket series, thus finalizing the initial bracket.
Game 3 of Match A2 was recorded live on Twitch and reached the 30 minute game timer. After an internal review, Scarlet was given the game win.
The deciding factor was based around Scarlet’s gameplay around the 25-30 minute mark, as well as the overall control of play on her end. Although Stephen had a significant amount of pips, Stephen didn’t adequately use his pips in order to set up a 2 hit kill. If Stephen would have hit prior to the timer closing, there would’ve been a solid argument for both to win.
Game 3 of Match Y1 was recorded off-stream and reached the 30 minute game timer. After an internal review, Daniel was given the game win.

DuelCircle Competitive – Season 2 League Format
New for 2022, 10 randomly selected players from a prospective entry pool will compete in both the Spring and Fall Splits. The regular season will begin with a condensed Spring Split, with regular season standings carrying over into the Fall Split. At the end of the Spring Regular Season, Spring Playoffs and Finals will transform into the Mid-Season Showdown. The MSS winner will earn the year’s first championship title and earn some cool prizes at this new checkpoint.
While the Spring Split will be a condensed single round robin, the Fall Split will return as normal. As a double round robin, the Fall Split will provide these 10 players one more opportunity to rise to the top and compete for a title and even more prizes. Dominated Spring? Use that fuel to grind through Fall. Need to rebound from a bad beat? Here’s your chance at a redemption arc.
This allows us to harbor the best competitive talent year-round, while also building individual storylines as we progress through Season 2 of DuelCircle Competitive. Another added perk? Less tiebreaker scenarios due to Season 2 being a combined triple round robin.
Spring Split Regular Season
10 Players will face each-other once in a 5 week single round robin format. Players play 1 match daily, 2 matches weekly on Saturday and Sunday. Games begin at 3pm Eastern with a 30 minute time limit. The Spring Split regular season will be held from Saturday, March 12th through Saturday, April 9th.
Spring Split Mid-Season Showdown
The top 6 players will move onto the Mid-Season Showdown based on current regular season standings. The top 4 players will compete in a double elimination format (Upper Bracket) while the 5th/6th seed compete in a single elimination format (Lower Bracket).
Playoff Matches are played in a Best-of-Three series. In between games, players have 15 minutes to reset and prepare for the following game. Similar to the Regular Season, games will also have a 30 minute time limit.
The 1st place seed will be able to choose between the 3rd/4th place seed as their Round 1 opponent in match A1. For more information, reference Section 5 of the DuelCircle Competitive Rulebook.
The Mid-Season Showdown will be held from Sunday, April 10th through Saturday, April 16th.
Fall Split Regular Season
Unlike the Spring Split this year, the same 10 Players will face each-other twice in an 8 week single round robin format. Players play 1 match daily, 2 matches weekly on Saturday and Sunday. Games begin at 3pm Eastern with a 30 minute time limit.
Spring Regular Season Schedule
The 2022 Spring Split Regular Season features 45 games over the span of 5 weeks (March 13th – April 9th). Participants compete in 2 games each week with games lasting 30 minutes or less.

Official DuelCircle Competitive Rulebook
The Season 2 comprehensive rulebook has information regarding gameplay rules, league structure, eligibility, tiebreaker scenarios, match processes, playoff format, player conduct, and other ancillary items. The 2021 Fall Official Rulebook may be referenced at any time, here.
The Updated Season 2 Rulebook will be available shortly, we’re in the process of fixing a server stability issue (4/16/2022). Current gameplay rules are available here.
Throughout 2022, we’ll be carefully adjusting these rules over time based on gameplay trends within the tournament and within the Ranked 1v1 ecosystem. We want our players to progress throughout the year without the worry of updates impacting the flow of the season, which was one of the key factors in moving to a full season format instead of 2 separate standalone splits.

DuelCircle Competitive News and Updates
- Match VODs will be uploaded to the DuelCircle YouTube weekly on Tuesdays at 6pm ET.
- The Updated Season 2 Rulebook will be available shortly, we’re in the process of fixing a server stability issue (4/16/2022).
- No Show Disqualifications: Week 2 Sunday 3/20 – Game 2 Keelan | Week 3 Saturday 3/26 – Game 2 Keelan | Week 3 Sunday 3/27 – Game 1 Stephen | Week 4 Saturday 4/2 – Game 2 Daniel, Game 4 Keelan | Week 4 Sunday 4/3 – Game 5 Angel | Week 5 Saturday 4/10 – Game 3 Daniel, Game 5 Scarlet
- Postponed Week 1 Sunday 3/13 – Game 3 between Mycin Hexmancer and Keelan Thorn was recorded live on Twitch on April 3rd and reached the 30 minute game timer. After an internal review, Keelan has been given the win.
- The deciding factors that we’re brought up, were based around gameplay around the 24-29 minute mark. First half was pretty even, early 20 minute mark it looked closer for Mycin but the sanctuary change into a Satyr saved him. Without that heal, a kill potentially could’ve happened on that last turn before the timer. The Jhin + Gambit helped the argument but wasn’t enough.
