The KingsIsle community has always possessed some serious artistic talent. We also know that the KingsIsle community really enjoys Manders, like us here at DuelCircle Media. From Mandar to Tinu Bhak’mal, everyone has their own favorite Mander friend.

Everyone could always use more Mander Masterpieces, so check out our two “state of the art”, art contests below. Whether you’re an awesome stick figure napkin artist or not, there’s a contest for you to create your own masterpiece.

For The Not-So-Talented: MSPaint Manders

MSPaint Manders is a fan-favorite contest here at DuelCircle Media, especially because it allows everyone to show off their “creative” side. I mean come on, this portrait of a mander (made by Aaron Shadowrider) should be in a museum. We believe that your MSPaint Mander monstroscities are priceless, which is why we’ve turned this into a high stakes contest with the biggest prize pool in MSPaint Manders history.

How To enter:

  1. Use a basic drawing program such as Microsoft Paint or do it on paper (doesn’t even have to be normal paper, can even be a napkin) to make the worst looking Mander you can. We cannot stress enough that your Mander has to look AWFUL. Entries must follow the code of conduct listed here.
  2. Describe and explain why you made your creation. Write a sentence, write a paragraph, write a MLA formatted essay, or even a novel since there’s no word limit.

Send your monstrosity of a creation to contests@duelcircle.com with the subject line “February 2022 MSPaint Manders Contest”. Please include your wizard’s name so we can credit you if you win!

Make sure to send the file in a .jpeg, .png, or .PDF format. If we can’t open the file, we won’t be able to see it and will have to disqualify you.

All entries are owned by their respective creator, and will be continued to be owned by their respective creator after the completion of this contest. Anyone submitting art that is not primarily owned by themselves, will be subject to disqualification.

Entries must be sent by Thursday, March 17th at 11:59pm Eastern. Winners will be emailed during the week of March 21st. All pieces will be judged internally by DuelCircle Media.

Prizes will be awarded by “creativity and presentation”:

  • 1st Place: 20,000 Crowns + $39 Battlemage Keep Bundle + Permanent New Fangle Mount (4,500 Crown Value) | Winner: Amber Roseflower
  • 2nd Place: 15,000 Crowns + Empyrean Airship House (12,500 Crown Value) + Permanent New Fangle Mount (4,500 Crown Value) | Winner: Iridian Windwhisper
  • 3rd Place: 7,500 Crowns + Paleo Piggle Pet (6,500 Crown Value) + 1 Primeval Hoard Pack (399 Crown Value) | Winner: Jordan Jadewielder

MSPaint Manders Contest Winners

Thank you to everyone who submitted an MSPaint Manders entry. We are amazed yet concerned by your MSPaint capabilities. Each entry expressed unique creativity and were well thought out. We’re “pleased” to announce our winners who went “above and beyond”.

1st Place Winner: Amber Roseflower

“I tried to draw a picture of my wizard Amber Roseflower sitting with my Mander friend at my Friendship Table using my Paint Program. We are enjoying the beautiful day under the Cherry Blossom Trees. Also, I am wearing my cool Wizard101 Headphones and Jersey. My favorite outfit! Mander wishes he had my outfit!!”

2nd Place Winner: Iridian Windwhisper | Mander in Overalls Who Loves You Very Much

“The inspiration behind this mander comes from Ancient Krokotopian text, The Mander Who Loved. Back before Krokotopia was a desert world, it was lush with green grass and pink flowers. The Kroks had just arrived, and the Manders graciously greeted them. A certain Mander yearned for someone to spend Friendship Day with, so he pulled on his best pair of overalls, and stood with his heart open to take. Some say he’s still waiting for someone, but others think he found the perfect partner to spend his day with.”

3rd Place Winner: Jordan Jadewielder

“I wanted to capture the beautiful Krokotopia desert. Nothing is more wonderful than bathing in the hot, hot, hot, hot, hot sun. Not to mention, my new slippers protect my delicate toes from the sand griddle. Can you guess what I have stored in these barrels? Hint: It’s the best kind of treat to have in the summer.”

1st Place Winner – Tatiana Rainbowriver

“I created it in Clip Studio Paint and had to go in-game to get screenshots for references of the Krokopshinx. I really liked that area of Krokotopia because of the ice and the blue manders!

I wanted to participate in this contest because I don’t draw wizard101 stuff despite playing the game a lot, so I thought this would be good practice and a fun experience! I also really like manders so I took the opportunity to learn how to draw them. I think it was a pretty decent start!”

2nd Place Winner – Zachary Nightstrider

“Terry the Mander. With this story and portrait, I hope to get his name and his mission out there for all other manders to rally to. Not the sharpest tool in the shed, but what he lacks in intelligence, he makes up for in pure muscle. So much of a man he had Man-Der(duh!) tattooed across his body to have a permanent reminder that he is, indeed, a man! This came after years of enslavement by the Kroks, he had simply had enough. He set out a goal to become so powerful that he might one day take on the Kroks.

The night before this portrait was taken, he was attacked in the dead of night, kicks and punches were exchanged, a cheeky headlock from the attacker. Nonetheless, a valiant battle was fought by both sides under the cover of the darkness. He recalls he started to pass out after 3 minutes of battle. In the morning he found something rather unusual, his tail had been detached from his body. Turns out Terry had been in a tussle… with his own tail. Terry was rather pleased and figured that he had in fact won the battle, adding to his esteemed manliness, and went on to train even more for the overthrowing of the Kroks. I wish him the best, he needs it.”

3rd Place Winner – Kayla Goldenblossom

“All that matters is that I had fun making it. They look wonderfully terrible and I enjoyed making these little manders <3”
