DuelCircle Competitive News and Updates
Sunday, August 31st Competitive Ruling: Postseason Round 2 Series B1 – Spell Disqualification
In Game 1 of the series between Blaine Spellwraith and Julian Winter, Julian casted a prohibited Scion spell at 12:51, resulting in a game forfeiture in the series. Watch the Game VOD here.
Friday, August 29th Competitive Ruling: Remaining Postponed Regular Season Games
Due to Brandon Legend’s availability, his remaining postponed games against Sloan Fire and Stephen Doom have been forfeited as no-show disqualifications.
Julian Winter has chosen to forfeit his remaining postponed game against Alex Darkhammer due to availability concerns.
Stephen Doom’s remaining postponed games against Alex Darkhammer and Blaine Spellwraith have officially been considered no-show disqualifications, resulting in wins awarded to Alex and Blaine.
There was an effort by all players to try and play these postponed games in recent days, however no-show disqualifications were awarded due to the imminent start of the postseason and Stephen’s previous availability throughout the regular season.
While Stephen was provided an exemption to potentially play postponed games as late as August 28th, Rulebook Rule 8.3 ultimately needed to be invoked in order to preserve the best interests of the tournament, and to timely allow the postseason to begin.
Wins have been awarded to Sloan Fire and Stephen Doom against Brandon Legend, Alex Darkhammer against Julian Winter and Stephen Doom, and Blaine Spellwraith against Stephen Doom. All results have now been reflected in the Friday, August 29th standings update.
Friday, August 29th Competitive Ruling: Administrative Dropout involving Cecilia Citrine
Due to Cecilia Citrine having administrative issues ahead of the 2025 DuelCircle Competitive postseason, he will be unable to complete his remaining postponed regular season games or compete in the postseason itself. All remaining postponed games involving Julian Winter and Stephen Doom have been forfeited. Cecilia will end the regular season in 7th place. Wins have been awarded to Julian and Stephen, and have been reflected in the Friday, August 29th standings update.
Sunday, August 24th Competitive Ruling: No-Show Disqualifications involving Chris Spell
Due to Chris Spell’s availability, all of his regular season games have been forfeited as no-show disqualifications. He will finish the regular season in 8th place with a record of 0-7. Wins have been awarded to all of his opponents, and have been reflected in the Sunday, August 24th standings update.
Competitive Ruling: Week 3 Sunday No-Show Disqualification
Week 3 Sunday August 17th’s Game between Alex Darkhammer and Sloan Fire resulted in a no-show disqualification involving Sloan Fire. Alex Darkhammer automatically receives the win as Alex was present at the scheduled start time for the pre-game “ready-check” period. Results for this game have been incorporated in the latest standings update and have been listed on the Player Info Sheet.
Competitive Ruling: Schedule and League Format Adjustment
We have adjusted the regular season league format to an 8-player, 28 game single-round robin. We have made continued efforts over the past weeks to finalize our final 2 players into the tournament but were unable to do so, as well as unable to adequately field replacement players.
Instead of continuously postponing games against opponents to-be-determined, we have removed those 17 games from the regular season schedule. This will have no impact on the overall regular season standings or the postseason format.
We have also slightly adjusted the Weeks 3 and 4 regular season game schedule in order to ensure that games are timely played. The special Friday, August 22nd Week 4 gameday has been cancelled, with those specific games being moved into the regularly scheduled Weeks 3-4 weekend gamedays. This allows for the schedule to be adequately balanced out for the rest of the regular season.
