Advanced Hotkeys and Shortcuts

Wizard101

In your travels through the spiral, you might have noticed that Wizard101 is not a simple game! There are countless pages in your backpack for each system and feature. Getting around them is difficult with just the mouse. This guide aims to share EVERY hotkey and shortcut available in the game in a concise, categorized manner. Learn some or learn them all, these hotkeys will definitely help you become a more efficient wizard!

Basic Navigation

  • W / UP / Numpad 8 – Move forward
  • S / DOWN / Numpad 2 – Move backwards
  • A / LEFT / Numpad 4 – Turn left
  • D / RIGHT / Numpad 6 – Turn right
  • SPACE – Jump
  • X – Interact
  • NUMLOCK / Ctrl + R – Auto Run
  • Hold Direction → Ctrl → Release Direction → Release Ctrl – Auto run / Auto spin (used to prevent AFK)

Mouse / Camera / Navigation

  • Scroll Wheel – Zoom in/out
  • Hold Left Click + Drag – Move camera
  • Hold Right Click + Drag – Turn character + Move camera
  • Hold Left Click + Right Click – Auto run
  • Hold Left Click + Right Click + Drag – Turn character + Autorun + Move camera
  • Scroll Up → Walk Backwards → Hold Right Click – “First person” camera

Teleportation Hotkeys

  • END – Go to commons/hub area
  • Press M then H – Go to commons/hub area
  • HOME – Go HOME
  • PAGE UP – Go to mark
  • PAGE DOWN – Place mark

GUI Hotkeys

  • F – Open/close Friends list
  • O – Open/close text chat window
  • N – Toggle Navigation arrows (compass)
  • Ctrl + T – Toggle quest arrow
  • Ctrl + Shift + Q – Activate quest arrow on quest with nearest quest goal
  • Ctrl + G – Toggle GUI
  • Ctrl + Shift + N – Toggle overhead Names

Backpack Hotkeys

  • C – Open Character Page
  • Q – Open Quest Log
  • B – Open Backpack
  • P – Open Spellbook
  • U – Open Housing
  • J – Open Crafting Recipes
  • I – Open Pets Page
  • V – Open Fishing
  • Y – Open Jewels
  • T – Open Monstrology Tome
  • Ctrl + Z – Open Photomancy Album

  • H – Open Housing menu

  • > – Rotate item counterclockwise

  • Ctrl + 1 – Equip Equipment set #1
  • Ctrl + 2 – Equip Equipment set #2
  • Ctrl + 3 – Equip Equipment set #3
  • Ctrl + 4 – Equip Equipment set #4
  • Ctrl + 5 – Equip Equipment set #5
  • Ctrl + 6 – Equip Equipment set #6

Other/Misc Hotkeys

  • SPACE – Advance quest dialogue
  • ENTER – Confirms many dialogue boxes (Selling, teleportation, etc)
  • ENTER – Open chat entry field / Send message
  • R – Reply to last text chat whisper
  • Ctrl + S – Open Crowns Shop
  • Ctrl + V – Mute/unmute
  • Ctrl + O – Drink potion
  • Ctrl + I – Toggle 2D combat display (Names/Health)
  • F12 / PRINT SCREEN – Take basic screenshot
  • Z – Open Photomancy / Take Photo
  • Arrow Keys – Navigate worlds in Spiral Door
  • Arrow Keys / SPACE – Navigate card selection in combat / Click selection
  • Ctrl + Arrow Keys / SPACE – Navigate GUI and button elements outside of combat / Click selection
  • Alt + Enter – Enter/Exit full screen
